Tuttosport: Milan have not given up idea of signing PSG striker as Ibrahimovic’s heir

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have not totally cast aside the idea of signing striker Mauro Icardi from Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report.

Milan are becoming more and more aware that the contribution that Zlatan Ibrahimovic can offer during the current season could be very limited, given he has just fully recovered from knee surgery and suffered another setback almost immediately and he will turn 40 in October.

Meanwhile, this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes that Mauro Icardi’s future is still uncertain. His farewell to PSG next summer cannot be ruled out and there are two clubs in Serie A interested in securing his return.

Juventus has always kept talks open with the entourage of the Argentine, while Milan have not rejected the hypothesis of a move for him as a potential long-term replacement for Ibrahimovic, who could of course retire at the end of the season depending on his plans.
