Tuttosport: Milan hunting for new Primavera boss – four former players on the list

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking for a new Primavera coach and three former players have emerged as candidates for the role, according to a report.

It was yet another disappointing campaign in the top flight of Italian youth football for Milan Primavera as they only avoided playing in the relegation play-offs with a win against Genoa in the final game of the season, with Federico Giunti having been sacked not long before.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports, there are a few names who are on the list of candidates to take over as the head coach on a more permanent basis after Terni was promoted on an interim basis.

The most likely at the moment seems to be Ignazio Abate, the former Milan defender who is coach of the Rossoneri’s U16s and is a more ‘comfortable’ internal solution. However, there are alternatives such as ex-loanee Alberto Aquilani – who has been praised for his work with Fiorentina Primavera – Alberto Gilardino and Alessandro Nesta.
