Tuttosport: Milan interested in 27-year-old RB Leipzig star amid Arsenal and Spurs links

Among the names that are on the list of potential replacements for Hakan Calhanoglu is the interesting profile of Marcel Sabitzer, a report claims.

Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) reports how the Austria international will be under special observation during Saturday’s game against Italy in the European Championships at Wembley. He has become one of Austria and RB Leipzig’s strongest players and is is a loyalist of Ralf Rangnick, a coach who could have joined the Rossoneri last year.

Twelve months later, it seems that Sabitzer could represent an interesting option for the role of replaceing Calhanoglu. The paper mentions that the 27-year-old has a high cost, but the fact that his contract with the Saxony-based club is expiring in June 2022 suggests that in the end he could be sold for a not too excessive amount.

In the 2020-21 season Sabitzer scored 9 goals and provided 7 assists in 39 games across the league, Champions League and German Cup. He has also been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham in recent weeks.
