Tuttosport: Milan interested in Juventus man – Man Utd are the first obstacle

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have set their sights on Mario Mandzukic as doubts grow over Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return, a report claims, but they face competition.

There has still been no official response to the offer tabled by Milan to Ibrahimovic and his agent Mino Raiola which has forced the club to look at other options.

MilanNews.it reported on Thursday that the name of Mandzukic has always been the alternative to Ibrahimovic in the mind of the Milan leadership, although the Swede is still absolutely the priority.

According to Tuttosport – as cited by MilanNews.it – the Rossoneri have indeed given thought to the idea of signing Mandzukic as a back-up plan.

However, there is an obstacle that the Rossoneri will have to overcome to reach the Croatian: the newspaper reports that the 33-year-old has reached a pre-agreement with Manchester United, however they do not know if this agreement is binding or has even expired.
