Tuttosport: Milan keen on €18m RB Leipzig star and Borussia Dortmund playmaker

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are on the lookout for a new playmaker to replace Hakan Calhanoglu with two options from the Bundesliga being considered.

That is according to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), which reports that the Rossoneri management are busy looking for an attacking midfielder who must be a quality player, but with different characteristics from Brahim Diaz.

There are many different profiles being considered, and Julian Brandt of Borussia Dortmund is the latest idea. Without any sales, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are working on the formula of a paid loan with option to buy. The intentions of the German club remain to be understood, but Milan are big admirers of the 25-year-old.

Then there is another Bundesliga player who has caught Milan’s eye in Marcel Sabitzer of RB Leipzig. The player has a contract expiring in a year and there does not seem to be the conditions for a renewal. His valuation is around €18m.

  1. It’s the same old story every season, Milan have all these names linked to the club yet we buy none… I had hope at the end of the last season that Milan would somewhat buy one or two class players as we will be in champions league but nope we let two star players leave, one to a city rival may I add.. spend the most money in Serie A so far on players loaned last season and made no major signing. It’s the same nonsense every year.
