AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli may try Lucas Paqueta in a slightly different position to try and get the best out of him, a report claims.
With Monday’s trip to face Lecce in the first Serie A game since early March firmly on the horizon, attention has turned to the preparation of Pioli’s side as they look to seal a Europa League spot between now and the end of August.
According to Thursday’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanLive), Pioli is considering the inclusion of the Brazilian as the trequartista for the trip south.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic disqualified and Ante Rebic the centre-forward, a free spot has emerged with Paqueta and Giacomo Bonaventura battling for the spot of playmaker and the chance to help supply the Croatia international so he can continue his red hot league form.
The experience and goalscoring record favours Bonaventura, but Milan need to turn Paqueta’s fortunes around somehow given they invested €38m, and Pioli may deem it worthy of a roll of the dice.
