It simply was not AC Milan’s night at Stamford Bridge as they were beaten 3-0 by Chelsea in the Champions League group stages.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (as seen below) has the player ratings for the game, with Ciprian Tatarusanu getting a 6, Sergino Dest a 4, Pierre Kalulu a 6, Fikayo Tomori a 4.5 and Fode Ballo-Toure a 4 as the defence struggled throughout the night.
In midfield, the double pivot of Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer both struggled but were not among the worst performers, and were given a score of 5.5.
Rade Krunic was given a 4.5 for his performance on the right wing, with Charles De Ketelaere receiving a 4.5 and Rafael Leao virtually the only bright spot of the attack as he got a 6. Olivier Giroud got a 5.
Five substitutions were made as Ante Rebic, Matteo Gabbia, Brahim Diaz, Divock Origi and Tommaso Pobega came on, but did not play enough to be graded.
With Lord Dest we are good to go.
Mr gazidis should start scrutinizing our purchases with all do respect Dest,ballo toure tatarusanu doesn’t deserve to be backup for a club with ambition as Milan.
Maldini and massara get this wrong,they spend the entire window pursuing cdk and fail to strengthen the team in various departments.
I think everyone should calm down a bit. We had too many 2nd choice players in but by far Theo was the biggest loss. Without him overlapping and pressing the left flank behind Leao it allowed Fofana to push across and cover Leao and Reece James to go 1v1 with Ballo Toure without needing to worry about defending. With Theo back we will beat them.
Replace Dest with anyone from the primavera, doesn’t matter which position – couldn’t be worse than Dest.
I don’t even think Maldini can help this guy. Dest doesn’t even have basic skills. I honestly don’t even think Dest could start for the Primavera at this point.
– Off the ball – wrong positioning, wrong movement, poor defense. 100% invisible.
– On the ball – wrong positioning, bad passing.
– On the bright side, at least he didn’t get a card or give a penalty.
It was bad dude, real bad.
Honestly, I can play better than that for a lot less than 4m per year too! Call me!
Tatarusanu is quite scary goal keeper. I live in a fear every time the ball goes into his direction! It’s a pure horror. You never know when the guy will make a horrible mistake. He is positioned on a wrong place even during a free kick (Empoli goal). Not to mention that yesterday 90% of goal keepers would defend the James’ shot…
