Tuttosport: Milan player ratings from Inter win – Kessie experiment backfires; French duo shine

By Oliver Fisher -

Two of the Frenchmen in the starting line-up for AC Milan stole the show during last night’s Derby della Madonnina win over Inter, according to Tuttosport.

The paper (via MilanNews) has no doubts that Olivier Giroud and Mike Maignan were the best on the pitch in the derby, and in their player ratings they gave an 8 to both, who were absolute protagonists. The amazing saves from the goalkeeper kept the game close, before Giroud’s three minutes of madness won the game with a brace.

There were excellent performances from Sandro Tonali and Brahim Diaz (7 for both), while Pierre Kalulu did well to thwart Lautaro Martinez and Ismael Bennacer battled well in the midfield, so they were deserving of a 6.5.

A 6 was given to Davide Calabria, Alessio Romagnoli and Junior Messias, while Theo Hernandez got a 4.5 mostly for his red card, while Franck Kessie was judged the worst of the Rossoneri players.

  1. He touched the ball maybe 30 times. And Brozović wasn’t really stopped. I now really hope he leaves, he isn’t worth even what was offered to him if Theo and Leao get less.

  2. Kessie played with his feet and not his heart, he had a chance to do something special, had/has the ability to play ACM. While you are still here, keep the bench warm for the men on the pitch, and be a tackling dummy for those training for the next game.
