Tuttosport: Milan player ratings for Cagliari win – the Jovic and Theo show

By Oliver Fisher -

A number of AC Milan players impressed during last night’s 4-1 Coppa Italia victory against Cagliari at San Siro, at least according to Tuttosport’s player ratings this morning.

The paper (via MilanNews) also believe that Luka Jovic and Theo Hernandez were the two best players on the pitch last night. The striker scored a brace, while the Frenchman – deployed again as a central defender – provided the assists for both of the Serbian’s goals.

Both players earned a score of 7.5 out of 10 as a result, while there was also an excellent performance and a rating of 7 for the debutant Alex Jimenez who showed flashes of speed and technique down the left side.

Half a point less (6.5) went to Jan-Carlo Simic, Yacine Adli, Tijjani Reijnders, Chaka Traoré and Rafael Leao, while Antonio Mirante, Davide Calabria and the substitute Christian Pulisic got a rating of 6.

Those who didn’t convince and missed an excellent chance to show their capabilities were Luka Romero and Samuel Chukwueze, both of whom got a 5.

The former Lazio player was anonymous for large parts, while the Nigerian – who will leave for the African Cup of Nations today – missed out on a chance to boost his goal tally with some bad decision making.

  1. How does Theo only get a 7.5?
He played as a CB, defended very solidly and……unlike your average CB he provided 2 assists.
1 a guided missile of a ball and the other where he single handedly tore apart their defense.
    What more could he do?
At least an 8 in my book and even a 9 would not be out of the question
