Tuttosport: Milan player ratings for Cremonese draw – Leao and CDK criticised

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan toiled away for all 95 minutes against Cremonese last night but they were ultimately unable to break the deadlock and were held to a 0-0 draw.

In today’s Tuttosport (via MilanNews) they have published player ratings from the game, starting with Junior Messias who was the Rossoneri player who deserves the highest vote in their opinion. He got a 7 because the Brazilian ‘was the only one to try until the last minute’.

A good defensive performance from Fikayo Tomori saw him get a 6.5 as he won the battle with David Okereke, while Malick Thiaw, Pierre Kalulu (who came off the bench), Simon Kjaer and Ismael Bennacer got a 6.

A 5.5 went to Ciprian Tatarusanu, Sandro Tonali, Brahim Diaz and Ante Rebic. The negative ratings of the evening went to Fode Ballo-Tourè and Divock Origi (a 5 for both) and above all Rafael Leao and Charles De Ketelaere, who came on and did badly in the second half and for this reason they both deserved a 4.5.

  1. The failure of CDK is partly inflicted by Poli constant desire to play Diaz 1st. CDK is overwhelm by Leao and Theo who controls the left flank. There isn’t anyone else for CDK to partner in the central or right flank.

    1. Some of this is inflicted by CDK himself who does not demand the ball (he appears to be better when he is given more touches and is more heavily involved in the buildup) but his teammates do need to find him more often when opponents defend more heavily against our left flank.

  2. Ultimately my frustration as of late has been the teams inability to complete simple passes accurately at key moments. I have noticed that a 3 metre pass around a defender to an open man often goes behind or far ahead of an open teammate breaking up the momentum. Bennacer and Diaz were both guilty of this several times yesterday.

    1. True. And speaking of Bennacer… Why the **** is he behind the ball in deadball situations when it is impossible for him to get the ball past the 2 closest opponents? Two similar freekicks in the last 5mins and both off them went straight to Cremonese players without any Milan players anywhere near where the ball landed.

The inaccurate and SLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW passes start from the back 4 and once the ball gets to midfield, they want to pass it back way too often instead of continuing forward. Slow and ineffective. What is the most frustrating thing here is that this has been a major issue for years but nothing happens. Even the new guys start out fine passing good & fast balls to teammates but once they’re taught “the Milan way” they start with the slow and inaccurate passes too.

      1. Completely agree. Milan okay at their best when they move the ball quickly. As soon as they slow it down, they become predictable and inaccurate. Yesterday Rebic made several good runs and the pass never came and instead a lateral or back pass was made.

With so many good free kick takers, I also do not understand why the cross often fails to beat the first man. Just kick it into the middle of the box and let Giroud or the CBs attack it.

      2. Again @bb you don’t know what your talking about. We are slow and “inaccurate” in passing the ball? We out-passed Cremonese like 600-150 LOL. Ya very “inaccurate” you idiot. No complaints about Leao today? Oh wait he didn’t start. Let me guess you blame him for not scoring and saving us?? Yet according to you we don’t need him and he’s easily replaceable and we should sell him for 40M??? Hahahaha! So which one is it?? Can’t have it both ways donkey. Let me guess we can sign yourself to take his place? You know cause you scored “200
Goals” in a beer league before you “injured” your knee? LMAO. Stick to jerking it over photos of Walter Birsa jacka$$

        1. “Again @bb you don’t know what your talking about. We are slow and “inaccurate” in passing the ball? We out-passed Cremonese like 600-150 LOL. ”

Clearly it’s YOU who doesn’t understand (which has been established a million times before too). Out-passing Cremonese “like 600-150″ says NOTHING about the accuracy or the speed of the passes. The stats will count a pass successful even when the receiving player must stop and go back a few steps in order to receive the ball. Not understanding that basic thing proves you have never even played the game yourself.

Why should I mention Leao? It’s not like I’m obsessed with him like you. And it seems you’re off your meds again as you can’t stop obsessing with your donkey-fantasies. Again. You are pathetic.
