Tuttosport: Milan player ratings from Sampdoria win – Leao decisive and trio impress

By Oliver Fisher -

It was a far from vintage performance from AC Milan against Sampdoria, but they were able to make Rafael Leao’s eighth-minute goal enough in a 1-0 victory.

It could have been a wider margin of victory for the Rossoneri in truth as they squadered several chances to double the advantage on the break, but a very solid defensive performance ensured another clean sheet and top spot.

According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) and their player ratings, Rafael Leao was obviously the best on the pitch in yesterday’s game as the Portuguese forward marked his 100th appearance for the club with a goal and a score of 7.5 out of 10.

Good performances also came from Mike Maignan, Davide Calabria and Sandro Tonali who each got a 6.5 score. Fikayo Tomori and Alessio Romagnoli both got a 6 as did Alessandro Florenzi filling in at left-back, with Junior Messias and Ismael Bennacer receiving the same.

Franck Kessie (5.5) and Ante Rebic (5) were the players who did not impress, with the latter still clearly lacking in match fitness.
