Tuttosport: Milan reach decision over future of midfielder – he will be a key pillar

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan consider Hakan Calhanoglu to be unsellable, a report claims, and Ralf Rangnick could have big plans for the midfielder.

As Tuttosport reports today (via MilanLive), Calhanoglu will be a key figure once again next season despite the fact his contract is expiring in 2021 and regardless of who will be the next Rossoneri head coach.

The paper notes how the Turkey international arrived as part of the 2017 summer transfer window during which €230million was spent on over 10 players by Yonghong Li and the new Chinese ownership.

Under Vincenzo Montella and Gennaro Gattuso he played a key role just as he did even with Marco Giampaolo and Stefano Pioli, and if the latter were to remain then Calhanoglu would have no problems as he is being played in his favoured role.

If, on the other hand, Ralf Rangnick arrived, it would also not be a problem since the German coach has made it clear several times that he appreciates and wants him at the centre of his project.

Milan still intends to focus on its No.10 which, so far, has only shown his technical skill in flashes.
