The AC Milan management are reflecting on their plans for the January transfer window, a report claims, and they now might put off their pursuit of a new striker.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan remain determined to sign a new central defender next month given the amount of injuries they have in that position, with Clement Lenglet of Barcelona – who is on loan at Aston Villa – the main candidate.

The paper adds that things have gone cold on the striker front. Luka Jovic’s performances have picked up and even Geoffrey Moncada’s words on the Serbian suggest that the centre-forward department could remain like it is until the end of the season.
In the summer a striker will be an urgent need, but for the time being – with Noah Okafor back too – the No.9 position is stocked. However, Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy is being monitored closely, not only because of his great season so far but also and above all because of his €17m release clause.

Okafor is no 9. I hope this is just speculation and Moncada isn’t diluting himself. Let’s hope jovic is continually improving but an addition upfront would be welcome.
With LB back up position being resolved, when will we address the RB position? Calabria…. neither a reliable RB nor Captain material really… I feel like even a 40yo Adani Alves would eat Calabria alive.
Okafor is not a #9. If he was we wouldn’t have needed to get Jovic in the first place and he would be playing there rotating with Giroud all season (when he was healthy) – but he hasn’t – and we would be looking for others lol. Okafor has never scored more than 10-12 goals a season in Swiss league? Not bashing him just think we have to be fair to him. He’s not a prolific goal scorer and that’s ok. He can play a false 9 and is a LW but he’s not a starting every day # 9 – that’s unfair to him.
To me IF this article if true is comical. Because Iovic scored 2 wide open goals and made the first pass to Okafor who then laid or off to Chuk and scored – we no longer need a striker??? LOL. Come on man. Just another way to take the cheap way out. I have to see a lot more before we make that determination. Yes Jovic has played a bit better than at the beginning of the year – but that is also because when he plays we play him ALONGSIDE Giroud or alongside Someone else in a 2 striker system – which is the role he had the most success in throughout his career. So playing Jovic means we have to switch to a 2-striker system which then means Pulisic goes out who has been one of our most consistent summer signing players. We need a true #9. Jovic has at done enough for me to convince yet. Long way to go. One tap in goal and a fortunate deflection straight to him – with a nice finish – hasn’t won me over. So IMO we need a striker. Just not sure what is available in January will do the trick. None of the players available offer guarantees – all are one year wonders so far (Adams and Guirassy) so it is a risk. I can see us doing nothing at all now that we are out of UCL – easy excuse not to spend $$ on a striker. Perhaps we will just pick up a CB but that’s it.
