AC Milan are working on renewing the contract of Ismael Bennavcer, who has started this season tremendously well. There is one key factor that must be taken into consideration, a report claims.
The Algerian midfielder has been a starter for the Rossoneri this season as a result of Franck Kessie’s departure in the summer. He hasn’t disappointed and Milan are now working on renewing his contract, which isn’t easy.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), after completing the renewals of Rade Krunic and Sandro Tonali, Milan are now in talks with Bennacer’s agent. The current deal will expire in 2024 and it’s believed that the salary request is €3.5-4m.
Milan will not be able to use the Growth Decree, which briefly can be explained as a tax reduction, seeing as Empoli registered Ismael Bennacer in Italy first. This is a factor that must be considered as the Growth Decree could’ve enabled Milan to offer more.
