AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli deserves praise for showing ‘courage’ and enforcing changes when he did, according to a report.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes that Pioli showed courage in deciding to face Venezia by making a large number of changes – particularly in defence where three out of the back four made their first starts of the season.
However, he also deserved plaudits for being proactive and making three changes at the same time less than a quarter of an hour from the start of the second half, restoring Milan’s backbone and giving them some much needed attacking impetus and some fresh energy.
The result is that the team scored two goals, winning a match that was threatening to run aground towards two points dropped, but instead the Rossoneri can now sail towards Spezia hoping that at least Olivier Giroud will recover to help them in another tough challenge.
RATINGS: AC Milan 2-0 Venezia – Duo shines off the bench; Bennacer key
Giroud please recover soon. Share striker duty with Pellegri. Let Rebic play on LW with Leao
Pellegri looked to be in good physical condition. He just needs to understand how to fit in now.
