AC Milan started the season with a new-look three-man midfield, and it has so far yielded three wins from three games in Serie A.
As this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) writes, Milan started the season on a great note, managing to win their opening three games in the league, beating Bologna, Torino and Roma/
The Rossoneri changed a lot in the summer with 10 new signings and going from a 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3. Stefano Pioli’s new tactical plan is working great at the moment but there is a big test to come after the break.
The new system was quickly adjusted to by the Milan squad, while the new signings have also adapted well. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders integrated well with Rade Krunic, allowing Pioli await Bennacer’s return with more calm.
It is a midfield that knows how to support the attack well, and the only thing missing is defensive solidity. Pioli spoke after the Roma game and confessed this year’s plan.
“Have clear game concepts, which does not mean fixed positions on the pitch. The ambition is to match performance with results,” he said.
Milan are trying. The Rossoneri immediately recovered from Sandro Tonali’s departure and found Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao at the top of their game. Now Inter are next, before Milan prepare for a tough group in the Champions League.
If Krunic remains this stable until the return of Bennacer, it begs the question why you would risk to disrupt a working midfield?
He wont be back till November, probs Dec when he will be in full game shape.. Well worry about that then. Thing about Ismael is he can play anywhere on the field. He can do mezzala as well
If he remains stable and consistent we should not drop him. Bennacer should earn his place in starting eleven like everyone else, and sometimes it’s hard to back to your best after long term injury…
Same thing I said in a different post. If he keeps this up it will be hard for Benny to replace him. Benny might be his sub instead lol
