Tuttosport: New meeting expected to accelerated Calhanoglu’s renewal – the current situation

By Oliver Fisher -

The month of January will probably be decisive for the contract renewals of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu.

Negotiations are underway with both players and the management want to keep them, but it must be noted that they are both free to agree a pre-contract with another club as they are both on deals which expire in June.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanLive), the Rossoneri have offered €3.5million net per season, while the request is for €5m. After 7 January – the day the lockdown in Germany ends – it is likely that Gordon Stipic will travel to Casa Milan again to meet Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara and try to reach a deal.

Contacts have continued in recent weeks albeit virtually, but a new direct meeting will be needed to try to speed up the negotiations, while Calhanoglu’s will is to stay in the Rossoneri shirt and his agent aims to please him.

Stipic and Milan must come together as regards the amount of the salary and bonuses can be key, but in any case Stipic will have to revise his claims downwards.
