There won’t just be mercato movement for the first team in the summer, but also for Milan Futuro. According to a report, Bob Murphy Omoregbe and Andrei Coubis could both part ways with the team.
It has been a tough debut season for Milan Futuro in Serie C and with just one game left, relegation play-off has already been confirmed for the team. Indeed, they will face SPAL in a two-legged tie after the regular season has been concluded (final game is tomorrow).
According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), there will be some movement for the Futuro mercato-wise, which was to be expected given the disappointing season. Among other things, the winger Bob Murphy Omoregbe and the centre-back Andrei Coubis could leave.
Omoregbe’s contract will expire at the end of the season and he’s destined for a move abroad, per the newspaper, while Coubis has ended up on Genoa’s radar. Il Grifone signed another youngster from Milan in January, namely Hugo Cuenca, and they want a similar formula for Coubis.
Cuenca joined Genoa on a permanent basis for free but with a significant future resale clause, rumoured to be set at around 50%. It’s a formula that got Milan a decent amount of money from the likes of Matteo Pessina, Marco Brescianini and Daniel Maldini among others.
Milan management mismanaged the futuro by bringing all the players who could have helped them in the season to the senior team yet nothing positive
Sell chukwueze and keep this guy as sub or season loan.
In a season or two can sell for capital gain or become a first team regular.
He looked really promising that one time on the pitch.
Can’t agree less 💯. Both are nigerian blood, and Bob looks more promising 👍
keep him sell Chuck, he can be good backup/ rotation & can’t be worse than Chuck (even Sottil & Teraciano is better than Chuck as RW)
The 50% resale clause is effectively how clubs are getting around the ban on co-ownership of players.
Milan are taking are officially having no say in the future of the players that leave in this formula. But I suspect there is often a covert agreement to sell the players against in minimum period so that we get some $.
Or if they take off then we buy them back at half their value.
With limits on how many players you can loan. This formula let’s the big clubs still keep an interest on a player. Whilst rewarding the smaller clubs more for the role they play in developing players.
