Tuttosport: Pellegrino waiting to fly to Italy as Milan close in on €5-6m deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closing in on the centre-back signing they have been after for some time as Marco Pellegrino is expected to join, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) takes stock of the situation regarding Pellegrino. The two clubs are currently negotiating on the figures with the aim of having the defender at Stefano Pioli’s disposal in the coming days.

The 21-year-old is in possession of an Italian passport and a sign may have come from the field, because he was not even on the bench for Platense’s last league match against Boca Juniors, in which Edinson Cavani scored a brace.

It is an obvious sign of how the negotiations between Milan and Platense are in a very advanced state after the initial request of €8m from Platense president Sebastián Ordoñez, who met with the Rossoneri management.

The agreement is not quite fully there yet, but Milan are aiming to pay €3m as a fixed amount plus €2-3m in bonuses and they will offer a resale percentage too. Platense, naturally, are aiming to get a bit more.

In the meantime, the player is awaiting developments and hopes to be able to leave for Milan as soon as possible. Today and tomorrow could be the decisive days.
