Tuttosport: Pioli evaluating whether to let Tonali play in the ‘game of his heart’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is debating whether to let Sandro Tonali feature in Saturday’s friendly against Brescia, a report claims.

The game has been dubbed by newspaper Tuttosport (via MilanNews) as a ‘match of the heart’ for Tonali, who of course completed his move to the Rossoneri from Brescia earlier in the week.

The 20-year-old midfielder has very little energy in his legs, but he wants to play against his old side. Pioli, who obviously has to think about the first official match of the season next Thursday, will evaluate after morning training whether or not he should field Tonali, but the signs are positive.

In all likelihood, therefore, Tonali will take the field for a portion of the match, to square off against his former team-mates with whom he shared a dressing room until a few weeks ago.

The game against Brescia will be the last test for Milan before the Europa League match against Shamrock Rovers. Therefore, Pioli could field the possible starting line-up he intends to use in that game, but everyone’s eyes will be on Tonali.
