Stefano Pioli’s future at AC Milan depends on three different factors which are yet to be determined, according to a report.
Tuesday’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanLive) claims that Pioli has found himself in limbo. The former Inter boss had established a team with a clear identity and had integrated the new experiences players into the group just like Elliott Management wanted, but the 2-1 defeat at home to Genoa caused a shockwave.
Pioli’s future now rests on three factors: the first being the hope that he can save his position through wins and good performances, but it is not so obvious that the season will end at all given the current COVID-19 emergency.
The second obstacle is Ralf Rangnick. The German is the one chosen by Ivan Gazidis for the bench but he is hesitating and now seems more inclined to sit in the office as technical director rather than to go back into management.
The third aspect is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede himself also faces an uncertain destiny but there is an important relationship between the two and it cannot be ruled out that this relationship could be a big factor in both staying, either by request of Ibra or of Pioli.
