Tuttosport: Rebic and Calhanoglu among six players Rangnick has demanded Milan keep

By Oliver Fisher -

The official announcement of Ralf Rangnick’s arrival will have to wait a bit longer, a report claims, but he has already been studying the current AC Milan squad.

According to Tuttosport on Friday (via MilanNews), the German has been looking at the Rossoneri team for some time and will continue to do so in the coming weeks because – despite yet another disappointing season – there is an interesting core to build around.

Rangnick considers in particular six players, namely Gianluigi Donnarumma, Alessio Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer, Hakan Calhanoglu and Ante Rebic.

Donnarumma is considered a pillar of the Milan of the future and recently positive signs have arrived regarding his renewal. Together with him, another leader of the Diavolo is undoubtedly Romagnoli, the club captain another element that Rangnick does not want to lose. Rangnick will ask the club to consider his extension after Donnarumma.

Calhanoglu will remain despite his inconsistencies, as he is a player who Rangnick has long admired, while the trio of purchases last summer in Theo, Bennacer and Rebic will also remain.

The French full-back is undoubtedly the most positive note of the season and he wants to remain despite the interest of some top clubs. Bennacer also has many admirers around Europe, but Rangnick considers him unsellable, while Rebic will remain as per his loan agreement until 2021.
