AC Milan will take on Venezia after the break and according to multiple reports, Tammy Abraham should be the starting striker. He has already impressed his teammates and Paulo Fonseca, as was the case from the start, is a big fan.
Fonseca was the one who pushed for Abraham’s arrival and it was thus no surprise to see him in action against Lazio last weekend. It ended up being a successful cameo off the bench as he combined for the crucial equaliser, showing what he can add to the team.
Today’s edition of Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, has highlighted the quick acclimatisation of Abraham at Milanello. Fonseca is happy with what he has seen and will reward the Englishman with a starting sport against Venezia next weekend, per the newspaper.
Alvaro Morata is almost back in action but after three weeks on the sidelines, the manager doesn’t want to risk anything. Abraham appears to be in good form as well so it makes sense to start him, though the Spaniard will be back up front against Liverpool and Inter.
The idea moving forward is that ‘the baton’ will pass between Morata and Abraham on a consistent basis. Healthy rotation, in other words, and this is something we didn’t see enough of when Olivier Giroud was the starter at Milan.
He was a great signing.
Giroud was the starter because noone could displace him. Every team and ever year they talked about rotating giroud but noone could get close. Giruod was more instrumental then ibra. Should of kept him and pioli one more year. But, Morata/abraham vs Giroud/Ibra. Could work.
I said after the lazio game, his energy and drive alike was refreshing. That interplay with Leao was impressive as well for the goal. Let’s hope Tammy brings some much needed energy
We need a strong midfield we are are ok on the front and tighten up our defense too Milan for life
