Tuttosport: The audio is clear regarding Ibrahimovic’s red card – no insults are heard

By Oliver Fisher -

It appears as though there is nothing to suggest that Zlatan Ibrahimovic said anything to referee Fabio Maresca worthy of a red card, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes about the red card for Ibrahimovic against Parma. “It seems strange to me, huh,” the Swede says quite clearly. There is no room for other interpretations as per the newspaper, and the only comment preceding that is: “Go home if you don’t feel like it.”

The pair had been talking at a distance for a few seconds before the referee pulled out the red card, so it is possible that there was a misunderstanding as to what was said, or that there was a sentence before that caught the official’s ears. For this it is necessary to wait for the referee’s report but at the moment there is no evidence of insults by the Milan striker.
