There has been speculation over the past few weeks that AC Milan could sign a new striker to be Alvaro Morata’s deputy, but now there are signs suggesting that Luka Jovic will remain.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) talks about the clues that Jovic will stay at Milan, starting with the fact that he has taken No.9 shirt left vacant by Olivier Giroud, something you would not expect from a player close to leaving.

Furthermore, head coach Paulo Fonseca had high praise for the former Real Madrid and Fiorentina centre-forward after the Silvio Berlusconi Trophy, stating that he has been pleasantly surprised by him in preseason.
“I didn’t know Jovic well, he surprised me in these weeks. He’s a player who can help the team a lot in the area. The way he’s worked so far, I really liked him,” he said. The Serbian scored in the last two friendlies against Barcelona and Monza, and has made an impression.
The mercato is unpredictable and anything can happen in the next two weeks, but Jovic is currently the favourite for the role of vice-Morata, also because the road that leads to Tammy Abraham is difficult.
Abraham is the first choice for Fonseca but the high demands of Roma make things difficult, as well as the fact that West Ham have swooped in too.
1 and only reason, there is no time to bring new striker and adapt him to a team now
There’s plenty of time. The season is long with a lot of games to play. So there will be enough time for players to adapt to Fonseca tactics.
Jovic will stay
1. They barely have money for Fofana (imo they want to offload Kalulu before they’d be able to bring Fofana and that’s why they are keen to give him to Juve for peanuts)
2. New striker could come if Jovic would leave, but nobody wants to buy him
3. By looking at alternatives that Milan have (Abraham), Jovic is no worse than them…
Tbh duo Morata + Jovic is not enough for Scudetto. Unless Fonseca will start playing Okafor as striker.
We have spent peanuts for 3 years in order for us to spend even more peanuts?
Why can’t you leave Jovic alone? Has he not done more than expected last season despite coming in in second half dying minutes? What again do we want from him?
If Milan wants a wonderful and complete striker they know where to get and how much it costs so everyone should allow Jovic to concentrate on his career.
If he has the same minutes Giroud had last season he would have improved but despite his fewer minutes he was at 9 goals

Pretty sure the biggest clue was when we extended his contract for another year..idk about the rest of you but to me that looks like the desire to continue both from the club and player alike.
You don’t extend someone and then sell them 6 weeks later. It’s a d*ck move that.
