AC Milan have identified five options as they look to add quality and youth to their midfield department, a report claims, with Sandro Tonali among them.
The Rossoneri’s midfield department is a fascinating situation to assess ahead of the upcoming transfer window, with question marks over the futures of all but a couple of players in that area as things stand.
As reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the midfield – in all likelihood – will be the department that will undergo the deepest restyling for the Rossoneri.
Tonali is a profile widely appreciated by Ralf Rangnick and the Milanese leadership, but the competition from Juventus and Inter. makes it a difficult pursuit.
Milan could also return for Florentino Luis of Benfica, a player who has repeatedly been linked with a move, and AZ Alkmaar star Teun Koopmeiners.
Returning to Italy, there is another player who tickles Milan’s interest in Empoli midfielder Samuele Ricci. The 19-year-old has put himself on display this season, attracting the interest of the Milan scouts.
Meanwhile, the club’s hierarchy could also choose to use Tommaso Pobega as part of the senior side after he comes back from his loan at Pordenone, but he could also be sent to Brescia as part of the Tonali operation.
