Tuttosport: Tonali heading towards a well-earned renewal with a big pay rise

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are set to reward Sandro Tonali after his excellent 2021-22 season by giving him a big pay increase, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it) reports that Tonali could soon receive a substantial increase of his salary with an extension of his contract having become a leader of the midfield department.

It is a decision in line with the management and club policy as they want to make the Italian midfielder the new symbol of Milan. A year has passed since the decision taken by Tonali to reduce his salary in order to facilitate the permanent move from Brescia to his boyhood club.

It is a choice that the Milan management has not forgotten and they have decided to reward him with a significant upward adjustment. He currently earns €1.4m net per season but upon signing the new deal he should get €3-3.5m per year plus bonuses until 2027.
