Tuttosport: Loan move likely for Romero amid lack of playing time at Milan

By Isak Möller -

After a promising pre-season with the first team, the youngster Luka Romero has struggled to impose himself, getting just 85 minutes on the pitch. A loan move could thus be on the cards for him, a report claims.

Romero arrived on a free transfer from Lazio in the summer and got to spend the whole pre-season with the first team. He impressed in some games, scoring a screamer against Real Madrid, but he has struggled to replicate that success in the regular season.

The 19-year-old has made just four appearances for Milan, coming in at 85 minutes, and it’s clear that he needs more playing time to develop. According to Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, he isn’t quite ready for this level and a loan move could thus be on the cards.

Romero is competing with the likes of Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze. Although the latter hasn’t been brilliant, he will get the chance over the Argentine given the high price tag Milan paid in the summer.

It remains to be seen what will happen in January, in other words, but it’s clear that a loan move would be beneficial for all parties. Either to a Serie A team in the bottom half of the standings, or a Serie B side.
