The international break will soon end but there will be no rest between now and the World Cup for the players who have been representing their countries.
Serie A will resume this coming weekend and Milan get their Scudetto defence back underway with a trip to face Empoli at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on Saturday night, which is the first game in what will be a demanding stretch.
Between now and the next break for the World Cup in Qatar, Milan will play 12 matches in less than a month and a half and there is the particularly tricky trio coming up involving a Champions League back to back against Chelsea which is either side of a league match against Juventus.
Below is how the fixture list looks between now and the World Cup in a couple of months:
October 1: Empoli vs. Milan
October 5: Chelsea vs. Milan
October 8: Milan vs. Juventus
October 11: Milan vs. Chelsea
October 16: Verona vs. Milan
October 22: Milan vs. Monza
October 25: Dinamo Zagreb vs. Milan
October 30: Torino vs. Milan
November 2: Milan vs. Red Bull Salzburg
November 5: Milan vs. Spezia
November 8: Cremonese vs. Milan
November 13: Milan vs. Fiorentina
That’s packed
All I see is 36 points across all competitions. It’s possible.
Nice thinking we have to bounce back from Napoli and get win streak for 20th Scudetto I think this month will be crucial as Napoli also have a hard schedule. Tho Atalanta still is an issue but Napoli is more bigger issue.
