GdS: Uncertainties remain over Ibrahimovic’s recovery – the return he has in mind

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan were hoping to have Zlatan Ibrahimovic quickly after he sustained an Achilles problem in last month’s game against Juventus, but he remains out.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) explains this morning, there are no certainties about when the Swede will return to Stefano Pioli’s squad. He will certainly miss tomorrow’s away match against Salernitana and is unlikely to be ready for the home match against Udinese next Friday.

For now, Ibra continues to train separately in the gym and he has not been back out on the field at Milanello yet. The moment he does get back on the pitch, optimism will begin to rise about his return to competitive actions.

His goal is to arrive in good condition for the derby on 1 March in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals against Inter, but to do so he would have to take the field against Udinese at least for a portion of the match. Time is running out however, and the more the days pass, the more the chances of seeing him in the derby decrease.
