Verona 1-0 Milan Primavera: Winless run extended to five games for Abate’s boys

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan Primavera suffered another tough defeat earlier today as Hellas Verona clinched all three points thanks to the odd goal. Ignazio Abate’s boys are now five games without a win in the league, which simply isn’t good enough.

Following the heavy defeat against Fiorentina on Monday, Milan Primavera were hoping to bounce back with a necessary win against Verona today. Instead, however, they lost the game 1-0 and extended their winless run in the league to five games.

It was a rather bleak performance by the Rossoneri, with very few good chances, and they were punished by a free-kick goal on the edge of the box. The goal arrived after 52 minutes and Abate’s boys failed to recover from it, despite fielding a rather strong team.

As we saw last season, Abate has some work to do when it comes to consistency in the league. Witj Jan-Carlo Simic and Davide Bartesaghi back playing regularly with the side, one would expect a lot more and something has to be done in the coming weeks.

Real Madrid are up next in the UEFA Youth League quarter-finals, which will be en exciting one, but a better performance will certainly be needed then.
