It looked as though Daniel Maldini would be heading for Hellas Verona on loan but the deal has run into difficulties, according to a report.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Verona were indeed very close to a full agreement over the playmaker but in the last few hours the track has cooled down. This therefore leaves the door open for two other Serie A clubs to make their attempts.
Spezia are keen on signing him having been linked before Verona came along, while the newly-promoted Cremonese are also expected to be back in the running for the Primavera product, so it will all come down to who pitches the better offer and prospects of playing time.
Stefano Pioli in the attacking department has several players and must make choices to thin out the squad while it is important for Maldini to get some playing time under his belt to help his growth.
