Today, David Beckham is celebrating his 50th birthday, and Kyle Walker has wished his fellow Englishman a happy birthday from everyone at AC Milan.
There are few players who reached the level of Beckham on a football pitch, the Englishman oozed class, which also remained true away from the grass, and showed his best for Milan even at the tail end of his career.
So, when Walker moved to the Rossoneri, he was quick to admit that he had spoken to the legend of the game, especially with him asking to wear the same number that Becks did during his time in Milano.
As expected, the midfielder was classy with his reply, offering his fellow nationman some advice on the club and endorsing his number choice.
Walker again expressed his appreciation for Beckham and his role within the game when speaking on the Milan social channels, which is no surprise given the two’s recent contact.
“Hi David, it’s your birthday, it’s 50 years. That’s why I wanted to wish you a happy birthday! I am at AC Milan, I wear your number with pride for what you have done for football and for every club you have played for.
“The Rossoneri family is very attached to you, your name alone says it all in the world of football. From me and everyone here at Milan, I wish you a happy 50th birthday!”

Not sure I’d call Beckham a “Milan legend”.
Great player no doubt, and perhaps a bit underrated since he retired, but he didn’t do enough with us to be called a Milan legend.
Definitely not a Milan legend by any extent. He was a great player at his prime but I for one consider those loans at AC Milan a mistake were we instead should have concentrated our time and money on someone younger that we could have kept long term. Preparing for the ffp would have made a lot more sense to me.
Calling Beckham a Milan legend, is like calling the grass at San siro a Milan legend. A great player no doubt, but Mos Def not a Milan legend.
That word gets thrown around a lot these times.
So, are you suggesting Emerson Royal or Rade Krunic aren’t Milan legends? :O
I’m pretty sure the legend of Emerson Royal will still be known in the 2070s.
