On the 46th birthday of Filippo Inzaghi, we felt it would be fitting to look back at the best and most important goals one of Milan’s favourite sons scored.
Inzaghi played his youth football at Piacenza and played for several clubs before making his way to the Rossoneri, including the likes of Leffe, Parma, Atalanta and Juventus.
Upon leaving the Bianconeri he joined his childhood club Milan and very quickly became a fan favourite, scoring a brace in the Champions League final in Athens.
He earned the nickname ‘Super Pippo’ during his 11 years at San Siro, suring which he scored 126 goals and 300 official appearances, winning eight major trophies in the process.
Here, we have picked nine of the former No.9’s best goals to mark his birthday…
1. Around the keeper
Unfortunately you have to skip to the third goal for this, but it is worth it. Incredible recovery…
2. On the volley
Little explanation needed…
3. Six minutes of madness
Again, this is the last goal in the video, but if you have a 377 seconds then this is definitely worth a full watch.
4. One, two, three
Touch, strength, finish. Vintage Pippo…
5. Cheeky
Instinctive would be one way to describe it. Or downright outrageous…
6. Instinct is everything
Incredible anticipation, timing and placement from the big man…
7. Like clockwork
Amazing (and totally intentional) one-two with Shevchenko and a gorgeous finish to match…
8. Two for one
Revenge is sweet. Enjoy…
9. The final farewell
We still cry every time…
