Alexis Saelemaekers got his first league goal of the season and it was worth the wait as he netted AC Milan’s second goal of the day against Salernitana.
In the 18th minute, the Rossoneri got the second goal that their early pressure had been threatening as Saelemaekers got a long-awaited goal. Brahim Diaz led a counter-attack down the middle and rolled the ball to the Belgian, who cut in from the right side and finished with a wonderful low curling shot into the far corner.
In his celebrations, Saelemaekers ran over to the sidelines and grabbed a shirt with Kjaer’s name printed on, paying tribute to the defender who has just undergone surgery on his knee ligaments and will miss the rest of the season.
