Fikayo Tomori is currently on international duty with England and it remains to be seen if he will make an appearance in the friendly against Australia tonight. In training, the AC Milan star has certainly impressed.
Tomori hasn’t always received the call-up from England manager Gareth Southgate but after his recent success with Milan, the boss couldn’t leave him out. In training, the defender has certainly shown his quality.
As you can see in the video below, Tomori showed off his perseverance in the 1v1 duel against James Maddison. When it looked like he was beaten, the centre-back recovered extremely quickly.
👀 @fikayotomori_ is in good form right now, that's for sure!

Persevarance, perhaps, but he eventually got beaten…and saved by the goalkeeper.
A 1v1 duel wouldn’t be allowed to continue that long in a real game, mind you, he just needs to keep the attacker quiet until back-up arrives
👍
Yes, u are right, Isak.
Maddison missed the opportunity to dink it to his left at 4 secs as Tomori’s feet weren’t set. He made Tomori gather himself, there. But this is still very impressive by Tomori in terms of simply tracking/mirroring Maddys movements, as attackers generally have the better of defenders in terms of feinting.
