There are a number of things that AC Milan must look out for tonight in the game against Spurs, in particular the lethal attacking weapons their opponents have.
As Milan’s official website highlights, Tottenham are a typical Antonio Conte side in the sense that they press high up the field and aim to win the ball back as far up the pitch as possible, then springing into counter-attacking and outnumbering situations.
Spurs have scored an impressive seven goals from offensive recoveries in the Premier League, fewer only than the record-breaking Manchester City, who have scored eight in Europe’s top five leagues to date.
However, at the other end the numbers show that the north London side struggle to stop other teams doing it to them as they have conceded the most offensive recoveries (260), fewer only than Lazio (264) and Bournemouth (263) among the teams in Europe’s top five leagues.
Meanwhile, Milan are the leader in terms of the number of chances created on the counter-attack with 37, at least nine more than any other side in Serie A and six goals scored from it, which is fewer only than Paris Saint-Germain (eight) and Manchester United (seven).
Looking at individuals, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son are two incredibly dangerous forwards. The former is top scorer in Tottenham’s history all competitions with 268 goals, and he has scored 20 times this season, while Son is having a more difficult year but still won the Golden Boot last season and is lethal in space.
