Did AC Milan’s win over Inter reopen the discussions about the title race? The next month could all of a sudden become very interesting.
La Gazzetta dello Sport write that Milan simply have to believe, as we’ve seen more sensational comebacks than this one and the psychological blow of inflicting yet another derby defeat could be the catalyst for a collapse.
However, first things first: Inter’s exit from the Champions League is an important factor. Chivu’s side will play only one or two more matches than Allegri: the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final against Como on April 21st and the potential final on May 13th.
A decisive month
Milan and Inter will face three top-ranked teams each. Inter will face Atalanta, Roma and Como. Milan will face Napoli, Juventus and Atalanta. The difference, however, lies in the timing. Let’s be clear: Milan is almost obligated to make up several points by April 12th.
Over the next four rounds, with the international break in between, Allegri will play Lazio in Rome (Sunday at 20:45 CET), then at home vs. Torino, in Naples, and at home vs. Udinese. Inter will play Atalanta at home (Saturday at 15:00), away vs. Fiorentina, Roma at home, and the away vs. Como. Atalanta will play Inter between their two Champions League matches against Bayern.
Logic dictates that if Inter defend their lead in the coming weeks, they’ll have the Scudetto in their grasp. From mid-April onward, Chivu will have Cagliari, Torino, Parma, Lazio and Verona, before the final matchday against Bologna.
Milan, in that month or so, will play Juventus and the more complex Atalanta, but with an advantage: both matches will be at home. In short, the requirement is to go on a winning streak, hoping to put pressure on Inter.
Superstitious Milan fans have one last thought to hold on to: on the final matchday, the weekend of May 24th, Inter will travel to Bologna. The same stadium, the same opponent against which Radu’s blunder paved the way for Pioli’s AC Milan to win the 2022 Scudetto.
It is the same stadium and same opponent against whom Inter lost on 20 April 2025, when Orsolini scored in stoppage time. Simone Inzaghi couldn’t overtake Conte’s Napoli, who, from that evening, found fresh air for their final push.

I’d rather we just focus on our own schedule and not on inter’s.
inter will probably steam roll all the teams mentionned above. As for us, we have shown we can get points, but also lose points, against almost any team.
Exactly – no one is talking about the small teams WE have yet to play. LOL!!!
haha lol
Those shouldn’t be a problem for a scudetto-fighting team, right? 🙄
What were the two losses we’ve suffered again? Oh right… Game over.
Inter is showing that you don’t have to win the big teams to win a Scudetto – beating up on all the small teams will do.
Just play the last 10 matches with a free mind. The Scudetto is Inter’s to lose. They only need another 24 of the last 30 points to win it.
