It has been widely presumed that Tommaso Pobega would be lined up for another loan spell in 2025-26, but things could change.
Pobega was sent on loan to Bologna last season, with an option to buy. The 25-year-old made 30 appearances this past season, including 20 minutes in the Coppa Italia final, and bagged seven goal contributions in the process. However, there has been some mystery about his future.

Allegri to welcome Pobega
According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Pobega’s future could yet be in his beloved red and black shirt. Massimiliano Allegri likes the midfielder, who has expressed a favourable opinion regarding him coming back and staying.
A definitive decision will be made in the next few days but the chances of Pobega remaining at Milan for the 2025-26 season are rising. He would also be useful for the squad list given his status as a homegrown player.

In the last season Pobega did well at Bologna, making 22 appearances in the league with two goals and two assists. Vincenzo Italiano is ‘crazy about him’ and the Rossoblu management are satisfied with his performances.
Yet, this is not enough to exercise the buy-out clause for the permanent purchase set at €12m, a figure considered too high. This is why the paths of Pobega and Bologna are destined to separate.

I mean I think he would be good for depth. Not a bad option and would be free. I prefer pobega to half of these clowns that milan are apparently targeting for midfield.
In his 1st game for ManCity, Reijnders plays as a holding midfielder. Matter fact, he is the only true midfielder in their lineup.
Yes, against Wydad. Serie C level. Musah can be a GK. He won’t play there against top teams.

Again depends on formation, but it would make sense to keep him as one of five or six central midfielders surely?
Currently, including the more concrete rumours, we look set to have:
Fofana, Adli, Pobega, Musah, Loftus-Cheek, Zeroli and Bondo.
Assuming Modric and Xhaka arrive, we’d need to move three of those names out. Sounds like Musah might be sold, Zeroli could be loaned out and then we’d need to move on at least one more of RLC, Adli Pobega and Bondo. Maybe two if we plan to only play two CMs. Maybe three if we plan to bring another midfielder in, though I have my doubts.
I usually agree with your takes but for me Pobega is the definition of deadwood..
I agree with this sentiment
where do you have your more concrete rumours from? from reports so far it looks like: Fofana stays, Bondo is wanted by Allegri and should stay, Pobega has a chance if we believe this very article. Zeroli will be loaned out. all others (Adli, RLC, Musah, Benni) are not wanted by Allegri and would only stay if we dont manage to sell/loan them. All this actually makes sense if we consider Xhaka (or someone with similar characteristics and quality) should arrive to partner with Fofana. I’d consider Modric more of a backup to Puli at CAM.
It has Allegri actually seen Pobega’s first touch?
😅 It’s his second I’m worried about..
Pobega Modric Xhaka would be the fastest midfield in the world
Easily! I think we’re only missing Busquets.
Prime Kaka levels of speed in midfield…to borrow your username lol 😂
I think Allegri is looking at the crap effort in a lot of games last year and thinking who do we have that will outwork everyone, if nothing else.
Pobega and Saalemakers both qualify. Not the center of the project but you need grinders. They are.
This is not a good chance, but a bad chance instead.
Pobega is Allegri’s dream player, what a nightmare
Pobega is not an upgrade to what we already have.
Will there be any good news this summer??!?
