CM: Xavi’s call beats the competition – why Kessie has chosen Barcelona

By Oliver Fisher -

It looks as though the long-running saga surrounding Franck Kessie will end with him starting a new adventure with Barcelona, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, Kessié is now ‘one step away’ from joining Barcelona as yesterday there were new talks between George Atangana – the player’s agent – and the Blaugrana to find an agreement.

Nothing has been signed yet, but the details have been settled and that is why the Catalan side are way ahead of the competition from Premier League clubs, some of whom actually offered a more lucrative salary.

Kessié immediately expressed his preference for Barcelona because he wanted to join a ‘legendary club’ and a phone call from Xavi explained to him how he will be absolutely central to his game plans.

Kessie did not hesitate to give the green light and while contacts will continue to tie up the loose ends, but it appears as though the 25-year-old has made his choice.

  1. Will not be missed. His performance this season has been forgettable and disappointing. Also, the way he handled this was extremely poor. Arrivederci, never to see you again.

    1. Free yourself from hate. He already made his choice and it’s irreversible. Even if you don’t wish him well he’ll still shine because his destined to. AC Milan is a great club and I have so much respect for them, but Kessie choose switch to Barcelona because he knows that’s where he can improve better, win silverwares and play more quality football under the tutelage of Xavi and Sergio Busquets.

      1. What do you mean by play better or win silverware or play more quality football.. in the champ league we had more trophy’s than Barcelona..don’t ever say that again..he has nothing to offer other than what he did last season..we all wish him good luck but not with such statements you offered

  2. Good, we can finally but this behind us.
Thanks for everything and good luck Franck.
Am pretty happy with Tonali/Bennacer partnership.

  3. Just another merc. Lip servicing us thn wont sign extension. After that fiasco either he didnt play srsly anymore or sandro and ben shines even brighter..
Bye franck, thanks for last season..

  4. Ovu sezonu Kessije ne igra ni malo dobro !! eto tek toliko da odradi ugovor ! Koliko može bolje vidjet če mo ali ne zaslužuje 6 mil od Milana ! Ničim to nije pokazao ove godine. Sretno mu u Barceloni a Renatu DOBRODOŠAO ! On za trud, trčanje i učinak ovu sezonu zaslužuje 6 mil

  5. He’s finally made his choice? Good for him! I wish him all the best in the future just so long as he continues to be professional and give your all to Milan in this last push for the scudetto. It’s the least he can do for a club that currently pays his wages. For me, personally, I think he’s one of the best DMs in the world, a real disruptor of play, but I never felt that he had a future at Milan once we got Tonali on a permanent. Anyways, he is the last remnants of a failed moment most Milan fans are more than happy to put behind them.

  6. He is the last player that Chinese owner Yong Hong Li buy. His performance this season dropped far below last season. Just like lord Hakan ,he Will be forgotten fast. Im doubt Barca Will play on CL next season too

  7. I dont care about him switching.
I cared about he dont give a damn about the club
the way he said he is going to take care of it at the olympic
we were gonna sell him at that point, but milan took his word on the renewal. Dont mind if Theo or bennacer or tonali gonna move out of Milan, but do it with dignity and love towards your old club.
Look at Camavigna, how he forced Real Madrid to pay 30M for him even though his contract will end in 1 year. Thats how u show loyalty to ur old club.

Greedy motherf####r. Him and his agent. It all starts with Raiola saga. Thank god kessie’s agent only has 3 monkeys on his disposal. These greedy agents i hope we dont have to deal with them again
