Yacine Adli has insisted that he will play wherever head coach Stefano Pioli thinks he is most needed amid questions over his best role for AC Milan.
Adli had a positive personal season during which he wore the captain’s armband for Bordeaux and was used in multiple different positions, but Les Girondins were relegated to the second division.
However, the 21-year-old is now in Italy and he can look forward to his first campaign with the Rossoneri, hoping to carve out a key role under Stefano Pioli and help defend the Scudetto.
One of the things that has been speculated on by the media is where the former PSG man should play, given he has been deployed as a playmaker, a box-to-box midfielder and even on the flank at times. He responded to a question about where he feels best.
“I prefer to play. I will adapt to whatever role the manager decides for me. I have no preferences, I have played in many different positions and this is one of my qualities so I will continue to bring it on the pitch,” he said (via MilanNews).
Whut many positions? Is he the next young rade krunic.
If Adli looks inpressive this preseason I’d like to see him in a 4312 no need for a RW investment then: midfield 3 of Tonali and 2 of the rest (Bennacer, Sanches, Adli, Pobega), then CDK at AM and Leao and whoever our main striker is will play in a front 2 with Leao given the freedom to drift wide whenever he wants.
