Guardian: Ziyech happy to swap Chelsea for Milan – talks on with agents over salary

By Oliver Fisher -

Confirmations have arrived from England claiming that AC Milan have held talks with Chelsea over signing Hakim Ziyech this summer.

Fabrizio Romano reported late last night that Ziyech ‘can leave Chelsea this summer’ and Milan ‘are interested in signing him’, with talks ‘already ongoing’ with player’s entourage over the possibility of a switch to the Rossoneri.

The Guardian are now reporting that Thomas Tuchel is looking to trim his squad this summer ahead of potential new arrivals and with the new ownership having taken over, meaning Ziyech is available for transfer.

The Morocco international would be open to joining the Rossoneri but an arrangement must be found regarding his salary which is above what Milan would want to pay, though talks are ongoing with the 29-year-old’s entourage.

Ziyech wants a new opportunity after starting just 19 of Chelsea’s 48 games in the Premier League and Champions League last season, having cost them €40m in the summer of 2020, joining from Ajax on a five-year deal.
