Journalist claims Chelsea winger wants Milan over Man Utd for three reasons

By Oliver Fisher -

Hakim Ziyech has made it clear that he would rather join AC Milan than Manchester United this summer, according to reports.

As has been reported by The Telegraph earlier this week, the Rossoneri have not given up hope of adding Ziyech to the squad even after the signing of Charles De Ketelaere. The player himself is still very keen to move away from Chelsea and it is believed that Milan is an option he would be interested in, so it could become a solution late in the window.

According to what is being reported by journalist Alessandro Schiavone, Ziyech has expressed his preference to join Milan this summer and he is not as keen on the idea of a move to Manchester United.

He wants the Rossoneri for three reasons: firstly he would play in the next Champions League, secondly he would have a leading role with Milan and thirdly he believes he would also have a greater chance of winning a trophy.

      1. Leading role – as he would be a starter, not an actual leader of the team.
ManUtd has plenty of quality wingers who are better & younger than him.
At Milan he would be competing with Messias & Saelemakers.
But, as reported, he would only be a last minute signing.
Milan priorities should be getting another DM & another CB

        1. Man Utd RW are not better than Messias though, they are just overpriced underperforming out-of-position players. Who is the real RW at Man Utd anyway? Their own coach doesn’t even sure.

  1. Saladmaker needs to go. Milan need a RW badly and Messias is just a stop gap.

Milan still has 3 AM, CDK, Adli & Diaz. CDK is the starter. Diaz is the backup. Adli will move around to fill holes but is unlikely to play on the RW as he prefers LW/LM or AM. Adli can play CM too but it is unknown yet how ready he is to play in the double pivot. He’s more of a forward moving attacking midfielder than a DM or pivot player.
