Report: Academy goalkeeper aged 19 has been called up for Milan-Genoa

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will take on Genoa tomorrow and due to the injury of Mike Maignan, Stefano Pioli has decided to call up the academy goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani. At the age of 19, he will be the third choice for the Rossoneri.

Maignan got injured during the warm-ups ahead of the Juventus clash and it seems he could miss the rest of the season. Marco Sportiello, who had a great game against the Bianconeri, will thus be the first choice as long as the Frenchman is out.

According to Mattia Barzaghi, the youngster Lorenzo Torriani has been called up by Stefano Pioli for the game and will act as the third-choice goalkeeper. At the age of 19, he has mainly been with the Primavera this season but has struggled with playing time, with three goalkeepers ahead of him.

Torriani has also been training with the first team on a few occasions so he’s certainly familiar with the team. In any case, should Sportiello get injured, we will either get to see Noah Raveyre or Lapo Nava between the sticks as Antonio Mirante is reportedly injured.

The game is scheduled for 18:00 CEST and it will be a strange atmosphere as there will be no cheering from the Curva Sud, as part of their protest.

    1. You’re not reading all the article, Noah Raveyre or Lapo Nava will be called as second GK ( and one has to play the game for Primavera)
