Niang: “Confident after Winning”

By Alex Viola -

M’baye Niang had his thoughts on Milan’s 2-0 away victory against Palermo, in which the Frenchman found the back of the net.

Niang started out by talking about the 3-0 derby victory over city rivals Inter.

“After winning the derby, we were determined to collect another 3 points tonight.”

“We haven’t been able to register many back to back wins this season.”

There was a little controversy over who would take the penalty, Niang or Bacca, with the former prevailing.

‘My first aim is to help the team and then the goals come afterwards. Bacca let me take the penalty and I thank him for this. I hope I can score as many goals as possible for us forwards have to try and be clinical and score. Whether it is Bacca or I on the score-sheet, it doesn’t matter, the main thing is to find the back of the net.”

He then spoke about confidence and Milan heading into their upcoming matches:

“You are always more confident after winning and we have to try and keep on working hard, without getting distracted, and show what we’re made of. We wanted to make a strong start tonight and we did exactly that before going on to control the match.

“We need to take things one game at a time. Up next is a home tie with Udinese and we also need to start picking up a string of positive results at the San Siro. Afterwards we will think about the games with Genoa and then Napoli.”
