GdS: Milan player ratings for draw against Roma – Theo disappoints the most

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan struggled to create chances against Roma last night but they only needed one shot on target to clinch a 1-1 draw. Two points lost, most would agree, and several Rossoneri men failed to reach their usual standard.

Roma took the lead in the 94th minute through Tammy Abraham and most of us thought that was game over for Milan. However, three minutes later, Rafael Leao’s cross made it all the way to Alexis Saelemaekers, who scored the crucial equaliser.

Today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it) has analysed the players and their respective performances. Leao and Saelemaekers were rated the highest a 6.5/10, along with Sandro Tonali, which is understandably given that they were the only ones creating anything up front.

Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori, Simon Kjaer, Rade Krunic, Brahim Diaz and Malick Thiaw all passed the test at 6/10. Nothing spectacular, but nothing horrendous either from them.

The likes of Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer, Olivier Giroud and Charles De Ketelaere were subpar at 5.5. The worst of them was Theo, as he added very little in both phases and Milan expect so much more from him, otherwise they cannot function properly.
