Milan Primavera 1-1 Inter: Camarda strike seals important point in derby

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan Primavera faced Inter in the derby on Saturday and after going 1-0 down early on, Francesco Camarda found the equaliser with a great strike. It was enough to seal a point, but the Rossoneri also had chances to claim all three of them.

Ignazio Abate and his boys headed into the clash with revenge on their minds after the disappointing 2-1 defeat to Genoa last weekend. The manager was also able to rely on Jan-Carlo Simic again, following the stints with the first team, and this was indeed a huge boost.

Milan have the best of starts, though, as Inter took the lead just three minutes into the game after a nice solo run. The defending could have been a lot better, allowing the opponent to shoot on the edge of the box, but the Rossoneri responded well after that.

In the 36th minute, having created a few chances before that, Francesco Camarda made the most of a loose ball around the penalty box. With a great strike, he found the back of the net and thus equalised, and it was really a crucial goal.

Milan continued to play well in the second half and created a few really good chances to win the game, though denied by the keeper and last-minute blocks. In the first half even, the Inter goalkeeper made a stunning reaction save on Diego Sia’s effort.

Therefore, as the referee blew his full-time whistle, the scores remained 1-1 and although it is an important point for Milan, they certainly could have got more. Thanks to the draw, they are once again in a decent position for a top-three finish.
