Official: Pioli names 22-man squad for Genoa clash – Kjaer still out, Biglia returns

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of today’s clash between AC Milan and Genoa, which will kick off at 15:00, Stefano Pioli has announced the 22-man squad for the game. Hopefully, the Rossoneri can get back to winning ways after the Fiorentina draw.

Although reports suggested that he had recovered, Simon Kjaer has been excluded from the squad due to the hamstring injury. Milan aren’t willing to risk the Danish international, thus the decision is more of a precaution.

Meanwhile, as anticipated yesterday, Lucas Biglia is back in the squad after taking part in the entire training session at San Siro. Therefore, he will be able to give Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer some rest whenever needed.

Other than that, there are no surprises in the squad. Due to Gigio Donnarumma’s injury, youngster Matteo Soncin has been called up as the third goalkeeper. Primavera star Marco Brescianini is also included in the squad.

Goalkeepers: Begović, A. Donnarumma, Soncin.

Defenders: Calabria, Conti, Gabbia, Hernández, Laxalt, Musacchio, Romagnoli.

Midfielders: Bennacer, Biglia, Bonaventura, Brescianini, Çalhanoğlu, Kessie, Paquetá, Saelemaekers.

Forwards: Castillejo, Ibrahimović, Leão, Rebić.
