Repubblica: LaLiga clubs battling it out for loan of young Milan defender

By Isak Möller -

Marco Pellegrino has attracted the interest of several clubs from abroad and could leave AC Milan on loan, a report claims. After all, the youngster recently returned from injury and could use the playing time.

Pellegrino was signed from the Argentine side Platense in the summer and after making his debut against Napoli off the bench, he sustained an ankle sprain. He only just returned to the squad, therefore, and could now use a loan to get consistent playing time.

According to La Repubblica (via MilanNews), several clubs have expressed their interest in the 21-year-old. Verona and Anderlecht have both asked for information, but the most concrete options appear to be Cadiz and Rayo Vallecano.

There are still a few days left of the January window and it remains to be seen if an exit will materialise before it closes. Milan are still struggling with many injuries at the back and thus might be reluctant to let the youngster leave.

On the other hand, Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori should be back in action relatively soon, and Stefano Pioli also has Jan-Carlo Simic to rely on. The latter has impressed a lot and is currently ahead of Pellegrino in the pecking order.
