This evening, AC Milan could officially hit rock bottom. By the Rossoneri fans, it’s an expression that has been used a lot, perhaps without really referring to actual stats. Now, however, it’s more valid than ever.
The start to the season has been far from good for the Rossoneri, currently sitting in 14th place in the standings. 12 rounds into the season, they have claimed just 13 points, which obviously is far too little for a club like Milan.
Therefore, the game against Napoli this evening will be crucial, as they need to exit the crisis and make sense of the season. Even though the Partenopei have struggled as well, Pioli’s men remain the underdogs, heading into the game.
As revealed by Opta (via Onefootball.com), a loss would be devastating for Milan. In fact, it would mark a new negative record (see below) in their history, officially hitting rock bottom. Of course, this is something that Pioli would like to avoid.
